How Does This Process Work?

Of course every web design project is different. But in general, when you purchase a Website Redesign from Think Visually Design Studio, the process will generally goes as follows:

  1. 01.

    Get the Process Started
Go to the Get Started page and fill out the Hire Me form . Provide as much information as you can on the form so I can better understand your needs, and we'll be able to make the best use of our time during your free strategy call.

  2. 02.

    Free Strategy Call
You and I will have a conversation via Skype. I need to hear what your goals, desires, and dreams are for your business and brand. This free session will answer at least three questions for both of us: Are we a good fit for one another? What services do you actually need from me? And can I help you?

  3. 03.

Sign the Contract & Send Your First Payment
If we decide to move forward, I'll send you a contract and invoice. Sign the contract; make your first payment. I'll send you the link to  schedule our 2-hour planning session.

  4. 04.

    Our Planning & Strategy Session(s)
During the 2 hour planning session we'll fine-tune the needs and goals you have for your business and website. This stage of the process is perhaps the most important. If you are getting a Website Renewal that involves both a redesign and a branding update, content audit or move to the WordPress platform, then you'll probably have more than one planning sessions with me.

  5. 05.

    Web Design Mockups
I'll start by creating at least 2 design mockups of your website's homepage. The mockups will help you see what your finished site will look like and help us both find a visual language to “speak” to one another as we finalize the design of your website. After you have approved the homepage design, the "inside" page and blog page designs will be created.

  6. 06.

If something on your new website requires new functionality, a non-styled prototype of this will be built to make certain it functions and behaves as desired.

  7. 07.

Approve the Designs & Send Your Content
After you have approved all the webpage designs and prototypes (if applicable), it's time to send all the content for your website. This includes text, images, documents, etc. A lot of the content can be taken from your current website. However, if you want to change or add content, this is the time to send it.

  8. 08.

    Website Build & Development
I will build your new website on my development server so you can see it come to life with no surprises at the end.

  9. 09.

    Ongoing Communication is Very Important
We will communicate with one another using an online project management system so you can provide feedback while your site is being built. We’ll have weekly strategy sessions via Skype to stay connected. The goal here is for there to be no surprises (or disappointments) on the day your site goes live. It is very important that you play an active role in this stage of your website’s creation. All written communication should go through the project management system. That way all requests and feedback are documented and kept in one convenient place.

  10. 10.

    Test & Deploy
Before your site is moved to your domain, it’s time to test every link and view every page on the site to make certain it all works. Once approved, I’ll move your site to your server where it will be published live for the world to see. Your site will be down for at least a few hours (up to a few days) while we go through this process. The goal is to get it up as quickly as possible with as few errors as possible.

  11. 11.

Free Support After Your Website Is Launched
After your site goes live, we'll schedule a session where I'll walk you through everything and show you the basics of how to use your new website. This session will be recorded so you can refer back to the information. I will also provide free email support for one month. During this time I'll fix any errors or bugs you might find. You'll also be given access to an online library of video tutorials so you or someone on your staff can learn how to update, manage and maintain your website.

  12. 12.

    Don't Forget to Celebrate!
We did it! Your new website is online, live and it looks awesome! It's time to celebrate, make announcements to the world, promote your new website and offerings - and party! Congratulations!

Visual Branding Design

Should your Website Renewal require updating you brand's identity (visual branding), the process will involve a few extra steps before we start working on your website's redesign.

If you're getting a branding + website redesign, we’ll start with creating the assets and collateral for your new visual branding. We'll create moodboards for inspiration, clarify your design aesthetic and bring it all to life through a visual style guide.
